The Surfbase is located 10 km out of Tarifa, in the Bay
of Valdevaqueros near the big dune. The entrance is on the main
road 340 Cadiz - Malaga, on km 75,opposite of the Camping
" Torre de la peña 2 ", before " Casa de Porro "
The main wind direction is Poniente (west) or Levante (east).In the
summer the Poniente increase with the local thermal wind up to force 5
Mostly the Levante is stronger. Often with wind gusts up to 100 km/h.
The typical weather situation for Levante would be a high pressure
on the Azores and a low pressure over northern Africa.
During your holidays you get always the right board and sail.
With Levante mostly you would surf with sails between 3.3 to
4.5 m2 and with Poniente rather with 5.0 to 7.0 m2.
The 5 km long Bay of Valdevaqueros with his sandy beach has
no hidden rocks or reefs. This situation guarantees
a safe spot even with strong winds .
